Changing Careers – Ultimate Tips For Success
Are you thinking about changing your career? Are you worried about how difficult the transition is going to be? Then you are not alone. Many people go through similar anticipation when thinking about attempting a career change. Your career is among the most important things in your life, and changing it is one of the most stressful decisions you will ever make.Be PassionateThe reason why you would even consider a career change in the first place is probably because you feel passionate about something and want to pursue it. There is no sense in making a change if you are not going to be any happier than you already are. You may be earning a five-figure salary, but if it is not making you happy and if you are not content with what you are doing, then it might be a good time to switch. Changing careers should be about passion and personal fulfillment.Do Your ResearchMake sure that before you make the final decision you conduct a thorough research on available opportunities. You need to analyze what skills you have and what skills you may need to acquire for your new job. You should be confident about salary prospects and other relevant information. Liar, Liar
Do you drink? Do you steal? Are you going to answer these questions? Aside from the legal aspects of asking these questions at a job interview there is the reality. One way or another your interviewer can ask and you will answer. The trick is not to lie.My personal favorite is "do you take company items without authorization?" meaning, do you steal. Everyone jumps up and down and says no way. A couple of years into the job a co-worker is at your house and notices a stack of company mugs. Causally asks how did you get all these with a bit of a laugh. You say you have a cup of coffee on the way home from the company cafeteria and keep forgetting to return the cups. The next day you find your being investigated by company security for possible other things you forgot. It is like this, most all stealing starts with a paperclip and finishes with the company payroll. While in my experience all staff eventually takes something that they should not have, most do not progress to the payroll. The whole job interview process is changing to interesting questioning strategy’s to see if you will “fit in” with the corporate culture. There are so many landmines they just put out there for you, to see what kind of person you are. Take the steps to eliminate the easily

Determining What Price to Charge for Your Services
Determining what price to charge for your services can be difficult, especially when initially starting your business. With home businesses ranging from landscape contractors to massage therapists, writers to caterers, pricing your services are unique to your particular industry. However, there are some common things all small business owners should do before setting their prices.1) Know your competitors. How does your company stack up against them? What do they charge? Do you have a strong market niche, or specialize in a particular field? This allows you to set your prices higher than others.2) Evaluate your business plan. How much do you have to charge to break-even? How much do you need to charge if you want to eat dinner too? It's important to know the bare minimum you are willing/able to go.3) Are there pricing guidelines for your industry? Contact a trade association or ask someone who has been in the business for several years. You will need to do some research before you just give out rates. How you present your pricing will also influence sales. For example, rather than charging $150 an hour, you can charge by the project (keeping your hourly rate in mind of course). Some customers may balk at your hourly rate, but may think the cost for th

Take Command of Your Career: How To Avoid Relying On Other People
Take command of your career and don’t rely on others to manage it for you.The Internet has made it very easy for job searchers to rely on other people to manage their careers, usually with limited results. Here are some suggestions to ensure you take command of your career:1. Don’t rely on other people to run your job search for you.A recruiter doesn’t work for you, they work for any client company that pays them to find staff. A recruiter isn’t paid to get you a job, they are paid to find someone to take a job that their client has available.Similarly, while it’s good to get advice from trusted friends and family regarding your career, it’s your career not theirs so the ultimate responsibility lies with you.2. Don’t rely on resume-blasting services. You may have heard of companies that you can hire to mass email thousands of hiring managers and recruiters with your resume.I wouldn't expect great results from this sort of service. If your resume is getting emailed along with hundreds of other resumes, it's likely to get lost in the shuffle or blocked by a spam filter.I remember signing up (as a recruiter) to receive resumes from one of these services just to try it out. How To Sell Yourself At Work And Get Noticed
Should you sell yourself at work?If you want to move up the corporate ladder and get noticed, yes you should. At the end of the day, we’re all salespeople no matter what job we do and in virtually all aspects of our life. We sell ourselves to potential employers, potential customers, potential significant others and potential friends.Selling yourself simply refers to showing others what you are capable of and promoting your skills and worth to others. In a work context, selling yourself could refer to letting your peers and superiors know about your skills and the reasons why you exist in the company. If you work for a large company where it’s easy to get lost, the importance of some degree of self promotion becomes even more important if you expect to get noticed by higher ups.Do you work with people where you wonder exactly what that person does for the company? What purpose do they serve and would anyone notice if they stopped showing up to work?Learning how to market yourself is the best way to ensure you don’t become one of these people. Here are some suggestions to help you get noticed and to sell yourself at work: Speak up in meetings.Obviously you don’t want to just speak for the sake of spe

The Long and Winding Road of Medical Billing
Medical billing is a multi-million dollar industry in America today. The exact process a bill goes through varies widely depending on various factors, such as the type of insurance a patient has and the type of service rendered by a provider. The process begins after a patient has a doctor visit, which could include actual treatment for injuries or other medical conditions. Sometimes the visit may simply be a diagnosis of a condition leading to a prescription given by a doctor. After the visit has concluded, a doctor will give details of the visit to a medical specialist of some sort. This specialist will fill out a billing record with more technical information regarding the visit, such as codes representing different diagnoses. The billing record is then sent to the insurance company, or sometimes to an intermediate firm that will process the record beforehand. Either way, the billing record will get processed and analyzed to make a determination on which charges the insurance company pays for. The insurance coverage of a patient may not actually cover all the costs of the services the provider has included in a billing record.Once the insurance company or some other intermediate organization has finished processing the claim, deciding which costs it will
