    Because being a great problem solver is such a strong selling point, it is important that you know how to convey that you’re that kind of employee. To do that, I recommend that you use the STAR format to demonstrate your skill. Situation; Tasks, Action and Results.

    Describe a situation or problem that you or your company faced. Describe the tasks or steps you believed would be necessary to bring about a happy conclusion. Describe action steps you actually took. Finally, inform the interviewer of the results.

My action was to take down the appropriate information from the client and complete the new resume at home that evening on my own time. The result was a very happy and grateful client that went to the interview with confidence.

    Take the time to go back through your jobs and come up with as many examples as you can. This will accomplish two things. It will give you great ammunition to use in an interview and it will solidify in your mind that you’re a great problem solver.
